Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H)

Who it suits: self-funded families

Main requirements

Fixed deposit: Silver USD 150,000 (5-yr pass), Gold USD 500,000 (15 yrs), Platinum USD 1,000,000 (20 yrs); compulsory property purchase RM600,000 / 1,000,000 / 2,000,000; minimum age 25; 90 days/yr in Malaysia if aged 25-49. SEZ/SFZ variant: USD 65,000 (age 21-49) or USD 32,000 (50+).

Family: spouse; children under 21 (21-34 if unemployed and single); parents/in-laws

School: Silver page: children may study up to tertiary level at government-recognised institutions; MM2H pass or automatic Student Pass.
